You may not be thinking about ice and winter coats just yet, but Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City is. Sept. 15-19, they’re hosting the NHL Prospect Tournament in their newly renovated space, giving the rest of us the perfect opportunity to dig out our hats and gloves—and team spirit—well before the winter season kicks in. The tournament showcases the prospects of five NHL teams: our own Detroit Red Wings, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues, and Toronto Maple Leafs. Prospect tickets are $10 for general admission and admit you for the full day: Thursday, Friday, and Sunday each have two games. True Wings fans will want to stick around the following week (Sept. 22-26) for the Red Wings Training Camp and the 22nd Annual DRW Training Camp Golf Classic held at the Traverse City Country Club.
