Spa Happy Hour
The Inn at Bay Harbor
offers a healthful alternative

If you’re into pampering, grab your girlfriends – or favorite guy – and enjoy a happy hour with a twist. Every Thursday, from 5-8 p.m., The Spa at the Inn at Bay Harbor is treating its patrons to a complimentary drink – including cocktails, wine or non-alcoholic smoothie shots – and light hors d’oeuvres during their appointment. What better way to hang with friends or a significant other after a long day at work?
The Spa’s Happy Hour started in October 2007 and continues to be a popular offering.
“It’s a great time to be in the spa and enjoy,” says Camryn Pollard, spa manager. “It’s a little bit of a different atmosphere.”
Friendly staff welcome you to the spacious lobby and salon – newly expanded last summer – with plenty of windows to let the Northern Michigan sunshine in. The retail area includes spa apparel, lotions and hair products with a relaxation lounge for patrons to wait in between treatments.
“Depending on the day, it can be relaxing,” continues Pollard. “Or, there can be more people milling around doing makeup together, hair together…. It just really depends on who you schedule with, who you come with. It’s also a great time to use our Local Preferred Club that we have.”

PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT
Residents from Petoskey, Traverse City and farther north can become members of the Spa’s Local Preferred Club, which began as a way for the Spa to participate in the community.
“Our passion really, here at the Spa, is the community,” says Pollard, who’s been the spa’s manager for a year-and-a half and with Boyne for four years. “Sunday through Thursday, locals get 20 percent off all of our services – whatever they’d like to book.” Additional benefits include off-season pricing year-round and 10 percent off retail.
“They just have to live in our community,” explains Pollard. “That’s the important piece.”
Prices start at $39 for a haircut and $55 for color at the spa’s hair salon. “We have a fantastic Italian color line that we’ve been so happy with called Kemøn,” Pollard says.
Treat yourself to a hot-stone massage, a body treatment, makeup lesson, manicure, pedicure or facial. Mothers can schedule mother/daughter days and couples can share a package created especially for them.
“This is a couples’ retreat destination,” says Pollard. Men’s services range from hot towel facials to natural manicures and sporting foot treatments, as well as massages and waxing.
Catch some dinner at the Inn while you’re here. Sagamore’s offers an elegant gourmet dining experience and the South American Grille offers soups, salads and bistro fare.
On Thursday, April 30, local astrologer, Mary Stewart Adams will be offering private $25 mini-astrology sessions to happy hour patrons. Learn how the stars affect your life through romance, career, finance and creativity.

The Spa at the Inn at Bay Harbor offers Happy Hour every Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Regular spa hours are Mon.-Wed., 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Thursdays, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Fri.-Sat., 9 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Sundays, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. year-round.
