Stuff We Love
By Lynda Wheatley | July 23, 2022
Maybe you’re one of the few who made it through the first year of the pandemic without adopting a dog or cat. Should you still have the hankering for a new furry best friend, the time is right—but running out quickly. Just one week remains for the Bissell Pet Foundation’s annual Empty the Shelters event, which makes it possible for you to adopt a dog or cat from participating shelters across the nation for $50 or less until July 30. Little Traverse Bay Humane Society is not only participating, it’s waiving the adoption fee for any adult dog or adult cat it’s housing. (Considering adoption rates for some in-demand dogs can be as high as $300, that’s a super sweet deal for anyone looking for a lot of love and loyalty for less.) Check out all the adorable adult felines and canines (two-year-old Spotty the Chihuahua, still available at press time, shown here), at ltbhs.com.
